How to SSH in to iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad to Transfer Files


SSH stands for the secure shell security. This term is basically used in the Linux and is Network Protocol, which will help to transfer files, remote access between the two networked devices. This will help you to transfer files between iPhone and PC over Wi-Fi Network. You can access the root, modify files can also transfer Cydia Packages (.deb) to your device.

What you Need?

A Jailbroken iDevice
OpenSSH from Cydia
SSH Client (WinSCP) Download here
Wi-Fi Network
How it works?

Open up Cydia on your device and search for OpenSHH. Click on it and install it on your iPhone.



Download and install WinSCP on your Computer.

After successful installation, open it.

Make sure that your Computer and iPhone are connected to the same network.

Enter your IP-Address in the Host Name

Enter User name and Password, By default:

Username: Root
Password: Alpine



After entering details, Click on Login and it will ask you to Connect to the Network.

After clicking yes, A new Window will be open showing the root of your iPhone, Now you can easily transfer files between iPhone and PC.
